My secrets to flirting!

As we all know, I like to talk about very deep topics on this blog...boys, and more boys usually. Today is no different! Hahahaha! So bear with me. All of my friends tell me that I go on soo many dates and guys are always getting my number. I can't really deny that. I do have a very active dating life, however, I never have had a boyfriend. I don't really mind this, because it's too much fun to flirt. I wasn't always such a flirt, though. I have a secret...I study flirting! I think it's important! It started around my 18th birthday when my sister Sherri gave me a book as an early birthday present. She was going to give it to me on my birthday, but it was apparently too important to wait! It was a book called "The Rules" by Ellen Fein and Sherrie Schneider (that's ironic that Sherri's the one that gave it to me!) This is an excellent book on relationships and how to play "hard to get"! I love it and I recommend it to all of my friends, even the married ones! It tells you how to get guys to get your number and ask you out. You never get hung up on one guy because you have 5 other guys! It really works, too! After I read this book a couple of times, I bought another flirting book, and I signed up for a flirting class online. I love reading these books again and again to remind me that I am a strong, beautiful woman that any man would be lucky to have! I'm usually embarassed to admit all of this, but so many girls ask me what my secret is and I can't just hide it! You can check out these websites for more info: http://www.therulesbook.com/ and secrets-of-flirting.com. Happy flirting!

Fictional Characters

Wow, I haven't posted in a long time! I've been so busy with school, but now it's fall break so I have time! I just watched North and South. It's such a good movie! It's a period film by BBC. I was watching it and I have to add Mr. Thornton to my list of fictional characters I'm in love with. He knows his heart and he knows his business and he knows how to keep them separate. He's in love Margaret Hale, but she doesn't like him. I thought it was such a sweet love story. He looks at her like she's the only woman in the world! Other characters I'm in love with include Mr. Darcy, Edward Cullen, Gilbert Blythe and Rhett Butler. I guess I was born in the wrong century because all of these take place at about the same time. The actual story of Twilight is in modern times, but Edward was born in 1900, so he has the same gentlemanly ways. These characters are of course played by extremely handsome men so that only adds to their appeal. I'll have to watch more period films and I'll probably fall in love with their characters as well.

I'm getting so frustrated with this!

So I went to the YSA Summit Conference this weekend and it was actually really fun! I took some fun classes on dating and on some spiritual stuff as well. In one of my dating classes, a guy I really liked was sitting behind me. I talked to him and his friend for a little bit. The class started so we stopped talking, but it was really awkward having this guy sitting right behind me. After the class had finished, the guy asked me how old I was. Now this guy is in my ward and he got my number a few weeks ago. He called a few times, but nothing ever happened. He added me on facebook and I knew he was a little older than me, maybe 26 or 27, but I tried really hard not to let him know how old I was. He asked me after the class how old I was. He guessed about 21, but when I said no, he asked if I was younger. I told him yes and that I was 19. He got really freaked out and I asked him how old he is. He said he's 30. I was a little freaked out because he's a lot older than I thought he was. In truth, I still wouldn't mind dating him, but I highly doubt that he'll ever call me again now that he knows how young I am. This is so frustrating because this has happened more than once. Guys think I'm at least in my twenties and they flirt with me and even ask me out. Once they find out I'm only 19, they freak out and never call again. I also don't seem to relate well with guys closer to my age. I guess I'll have to wait a few more years to be more in the same age group as these 30 year old guys.

Babysitting...yay.

So, I babysat my two nephews and one niece all weekend. It was exhausting but fun. I just thought some of the things they said and did were funny! I was talking to my 6-year-old nephew and he asked me if I had seen Barack Obama on TV. Surprised, I answered yes. He told me that Barack Obama is silly and he wants his 1-year-old brother to be president. My one-year-old nephew never learned my name, he just called me Mom. He would usually have to say it a few times before I'd remember he was talking to me. My 4-year-old niece would keep taking my lip gloss and put it on. One morning while I was getting ready, she took my mirror. She looked at herself and said, "I'm so gorgeous! That's a big word for really pretty." She then kissed the mirror. I was laughing pretty hard. Their parents came home and I was getting ready to leave. Her mom was holding her and we noticed that she was crying. We asked her what was wrong and she said, "I want to stay with Liz. I don't want her to go home!" Oh my, that was so cute! I did learn a few things about kids though. 1. They don't eat very much. 2. Don't give babies cereal with milk. 3. They come first, it's not just about you. You have to constantly watch them and you can't just do whatever you want. 4. Discipline is harder than it looks. 5. I'm not quite ready to have kids yet!

First Blog!

Happy Pioneer Day! I was looking at my sister's blog and I thought, that's cool, I think I'll get one! So I signed up, and it took me forever to find how to write a new blog. I'm sure I'll know how to navigate around it soon. I'm pretty sure no one will read this, but that's ok by me. Maybe I'll put the address on my facebook page. Anyways, I'm pretty excited to be doing this! I get to watch my niece and 2 nephews this whole weekend, which is exciting because I don't have to work until Monday!
